CJ Lang- Owner/9U Head Coach

CJ Lang grew up in Sparks, NV where he attended Reed High School. He was a Varsity starter for three years on the baseball team from his Sophomore season until the end of his Senior season. As a Senior, Lang was named to 1st Team All State of Nevada as a second baseman where he hit .487, had 61 hits, 14 Home Runs, and a state best 61 RBI's. Lang still holds the Doubles (16) and Home Runs (14) record at Reed.

Lang went on to play the next two years at the College of San Mateo under heralded coach Doug Williams. The team went on to finish 3rd in theState of California in his Freshman season. During his two years at San Mateo, Lang didn't hit under .320 and was known for his defense. After offers from the University of Texas, Tennessee, San Jose St University, UNR, and UNLV, he choose to take his talents to UNLV. At UNLV Lang started both years at second base where as a Junior, he was the only UNLV player to start every game of the season. During his Senior season Lang was one of the top hitters in the country, with a .362 AVG, 85 HITS, 8 HR's,and 18 SB's.

Following his UNLV career, Lang began his professional baseball career. He was picked up by the Reno Silver Sox of the Golden Baseball League half way through the season. He helped the Silver Sox win a Championship in his first professional season, one where Lang finished 2nd in Rookie of the Year voting. He was then picked up by the Chicago White Sox. In his first season with the White Sox organization, they placed him in High A, where he was used as a defensive specialist, playing mainly short stop, as well as second base, third base, and the outfield. During the next two years Lang would go from High A to Double AA, where he hit .287 during his final season with the White Sox in 2009. Following his final season with the White Sox, Lang signed a one year contract with the St. George Roadrunners of the GBL.The team folded just weeks prior to the season ending. With offers on the table Lang decided he would retire as a player and start his coaching career.

Lang's first coaching job was with the Reno High Varsity team in 2011. He learned a lot under Coach Pete Savage and became extremely excited about being part of the game of baseball again, this time in a different aspect of the game than he was accustomed to. After a year at Reno HS where he learned a ton and was well liked and respected by all the players, Lang decided to help coach younger players in the Travel Baseball arena. He has coached at all age levels of Competitive Tournament Baseball for the past 6 years. Lang has won many Championships during this time most notably with his 11u team winning the 2016 World Series. Most importantly he has positively impacted hundreds of youth players in the Reno/Sparks area by preparing these young men to be as successful with Baseball as they can be and becoming successful human beings outside the game of Baseball. CJ Lang is currently the Owner of the Reno Mustangs where he runs every age groups practices and coaches the 9u team in Tournaments.
